Global International organization which deals with the rules and regulations of trade between two or more countries is known as World Trade Organisation. It was established in 1995. It is also known as WTO. The basic motive of this organization is to help exporters, importers, and producers of goods and services. India has been a member of WTO from 1 January 1995 and a member of GATT from 8 July 1948. The headquarter is situated in Geneva, Switzerland.

The structure of the WTO is the highest authority, the Ministerial Conference includes representatives of all members, which is required to meet at least every two years.

The agreements provide a transparent framework to producers of goods and services, to conduct their business. The main aim of the WTO  is to improve the welfare of the peoples of the WTO’s members.

 Act as a Dispute Settlement Organisation :

The WTO helps in resolving trade conflicts under the Dispute Settlement Understanding and ensuring that trade flows smoothly. Judgments are given by specially appointed independent experts. It encourages the members to settle their discrepancies through consultation with each other.
