19. Varun ltd. Issued Rs 1,00,000 shares of Rs 100 each at a premium of Rs 20 for subscription payables as :
On application | Rs 10 per share |
On allotment(including premium ) | Rs 40 per share + Rs 10 of premium |
On the first and final call. | Rs 50 per share +Rs 10 of premium |
Overpayment on the application was to be applied towards the amount due on allotment and overpayment on the application were to be returned issue was t be returned issue was oversubscribed to the extent of 13,000 shares. Applicants for 12000 shares were allotted only 1000 shares and Applicants for 2000 shares were sent letters of regret. All the money due on the allotment and final call was duly received
Pass necessary entries in the company’s books to record the above transactions. Also, prepare the company’s balance sheet on completion of the above transactions.
