1. (Different Cases of NPS) X, Y, and Z were partners sharing in 4 : 3 : 3 ratio. Z retired and his share was taken over by
(i) X entirely , (ii) Y entirely , (iii) X and Y equally, (iv) X and Y in 1:2 ratio. Calculate New Ratio

Calculation of new Profit Sharing ratio

(i) Z’s share	=	3
		10

X’s gain	=	3
		10

Thus X’s New Share	=	4	+	3
		10		10
	=	7
		10

So, New Profit sharing Ratio	=	7	:	3
		10		10
	=	7	:	3

(ii) Y’s gain	=	3
		10

Thus Y’s New Share	=	3	+	3
		10		10
	=	6
		10

So, New Profit sharing Ratio	=	4	:	6

	=	4	:	6

(iii) X’s gain	=	3	x	1

	=	3
		20

Y’s gain	=	3	x	1

Thus X’s New Share	=	4	+	3
