79. (Return on Capital Employed) Net Profit after Interest but before Tax ₹ 1,40,000. Long Term Debts ₹ 4,00,000. Shareholders funds ₹ 2,40,000. Tax rate, 50%.
Calculate the return on capital employed.

Calculation of Net Profit before Interest and Tax

 =Net Profit + Interest on Debentures
 =₹ 1,40,000 + ₹ 4,00,000 x 15%
 =₹ 1,40,000 + ₹ 60,000
 =₹ 2,00,000
Calculation of Capital Employed=Shareholder’s Funds + Debentures/LT Debts
 =₹ 2,40,000 + ₹ 4,00,000
 =₹ 6,40,000
